Hab was neues über meine Highschool entdeckt!!
Auf der Hompage habe ich die Liste von allen "clubs, organisations & activities" gefunden. Ist zwar die Liste vom Schuljahr 2013/14 aber ich denke mal, dass sich für das nächste Jahr nicht so viel ändern wird.
Es gibt auch hier viel zu viel Auswahl...:D 
Aber ich finde, dass RAM Riders, H.O.S.A. und Photography ziemlich interessant klingen (für mich jedenfalls...) 


Academic Challenge
Academic Challenge sponsors teams in competitions with other schools in a Jeopardy! like competition. The competition covers a wide range of topics from sports to math and can be fun and exciting. Students at all grade levels are welcome to join.

American Sign Language
ASL club meets to work on their fluency in the language.

Promotes Asian culture and multicultural understanding.

Athletics / Booster Club
MCHS offers the following UIL sports:
Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Football, Wrestling, Volleyball, Golf, Track, Cross Country, Tennis, Swimming, & Powerlifting.


Band / Color Guard
MCHS Band / Color Guard has 230 members. They travel to all varsity football games, band spring trip & compete in UIL competitions. Auditions required for special performing groups.
Meets: Daily in class and after school for rehearsals.
Fees: Band $150, Percussion $265, Color Guard $650

Best Buddies
Create a friendship that will last forever! Be paired with a special needs student and foster a friendship throughout the year. Come by S103 or S105 for more info. It’s a big commitment and a great organization that creates a friendship that changes both of their lives!

Bowling Club
Come have fun and improve your game! Bowling club meets twice a week at the Times Square on Grand Parkway. All bowlers welcome.

Cheerleading (Varsity & JV)
Promotes school spirit and positive school climate by participating at athletic events and extra-curricular activities. Cheerleaders are expected to be positive role models, serving as high school ambassadors at school, in the district and community. Try outs in March.
Meets: 7th period and every day after school, Tuesday ‘s 4-5 at TX Cheer for stunting
Fees: up to $900.00 a year

Choir
The choir program is made up of six class periods:
Crescendo (1st period) – non-competitive boys’ choir. Open to any MCHS boy. Forte (2nd period) – JV/Competitive Boys’ choir. By teacher placement/audition only. Delta 7 (3rd period) – Specialty group; public relations. Focuses primarily on contemporary a cappella music. This group is a 2nd choir class and is open by audition to Varsity Mixed Choir Students. Kantori (4th period) – Varsity Mixed choir. This choir competes as mixed (boys and girls) at the varsity level as well as Varsity boys and varsity girls choir. They rehearse each Monday from 7-9 pm in the fall, and 6-9 in the spring. Cantus (6th period) – JV/competitive Girls’ choir. By teacher placement/audition only. Bellissima (7th period) - Open to any MCHS girl.
Fees: Starts @ $50.

Computer Science Club
The computer science club meets to expand on the skills taught in the classroom. We also participate in UIL contests throughout the year. You do not have to be in computer science class to join.
Meets: 1-2 times a week, the day varies as per the student schedules

Dance Team, Martinettes
Come join one of the best organizations on campus! The MCHS Martinettes are full of fun and tradition and are looking for some great dancers to be a part of our team!
Meets: Every day after school for practice until at least 4:30pm
Requirements: Anyone in grades 9-11 may try out to be on the next year’s team. You do not have to have been in dance class to try out, but it is encouraged. New team member fees are required, but there are a lot of fundraising opportunities to help with this.

Destination Imagination
Destination Imagination (DI) is a non-profit, volunteer-led, cause-driven organization; our purpose is to inspire and equip students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders.

A national organization of French students.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
Learn the business of business through relationships, leadership and career development programs. Monthly projects and simulated competitions can earn students scholarships. We also hold the annual Dodge Ball tournament which encourages Good Sportsmanship.

Health Occupations Student of America H.O.S.A
H.O.S.A. is an organization for students interested in the medical field. Nationally endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education to promote career opportunities in the health care industry.

History Club
Focus on projects to increase historical knowledge including display case, historical cemetery and much more.

Key Club
Key Club is an international community service organization led by high school students. Earn Service awards, a white cord to wear on graduation, and looks GREAT on a résumé.
Meets: 1st and 3rd Wednesday both during Advisory and afterschool.

National ART Honor Society
Membership is based upon art scholarship, service and character. We promote art awareness to the school and the community.

Eligible: Must 1 year of art and must be in an upper level art class (sculpture, ceramics, drawing, AP art) must maintain a B or higher to remain in this chapter.

Juniors and Seniors may apply. Applicants are screened by committee, and must maintain a 3.75 GPA. 30 hours of community service are required.

Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC)
A dynamic group dedicated to building confidence, leadership skill and physical fitness in high school students. Uniforms are worn weekly. MCHS is the only school in KISD to offer this exclusive program. Membership in NJROTC can fulfill the graduation PE requirements, offers excellent scholarship opportunities and dual credit.

Orchestra
Orchestra consists of violin, viola, cello, bass, and piano. We learn and perform a variety of classical, pop, folk, and modern styles of music. We generally give 3 major concerts a year. Chamber- for those students that need extra help in performance basics. Philharmonic - our junior varsity group, participates in UIL contests. Symphony- our varsity group - participates in UIL full and string contest. Cripple Creek Fiddlers - our premier performance ensemble. Fiddle music of all types are learned and performed. We also use a piano, electric bass, and drummer.
Requirements: Must have prior experience playing a violin, viola, cello, or bass
Fees: $100 for freshmen/$80 for returning students

Photography Club
If you LOVE to take pictures or want to learn more about photography, then Photography Club is for you! We have monthly contests, weekly features on our Instagram Account, seasonal parties and an end of the year field trip.

Powerlifting, Boys / Girls
The competitors are placed in weight classes for events that are a 1 rep max total for Bench, Squat, and Deadlift.

Requirements: You must be academically eligible and have a current physical on file with the athletic trainer to participate.

Ram Riders
A club for students that ride, compete, show or just love horses. This is a community service oriented club and we do lots of volunteering related to equestrian activities. You do not need to own a horse to be a member.
Meetings: Alternate Thursday during advisory, some after school meetings will be scheduled

Senior Women
We are Senior Women that promote school spirit through the support of our senior male athletes!

Learn about Spanish speaking countries and meet new people from different countries. Do not have to be enrolled in Spanish to join. Application available in Room D105 or D107

Speech & Debate Team
The National Forensic League is a nationally recognized competitive speech and debate team which competes against other schools in a variety of debate, public speaking, and acting events. It is a lot of fun and a great way to prepare for college. Taking the Debate class is recommended, but not required.
Meets: Tuesdays after school in B107
Fees: Annual dues of $125.

Student Council 
Student council shares students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and principals and raises funds to help school-wide activities, social events, community projects, and people in need.

RSVP Rams Student Volunteering Proudly
This is a community service program where participating students:
Become a resource to our community, see the school as a helpful part of the community
and the disciplines taught in school integrated into life’s work.
RSVP offers the only approved cord worn at graduation besides academia. All requirements are outlined on the website. There are no meetings and students are responsible for obtaining their own volunteer opportunities. Everyone can participate.

Theatre Company / International Thespian Society / Comedy Sportz HS League
Theatre Company is MCHS’s drama club producing a full season of plays, musicals, and other theatrical events. You do not need to be enrolled in Theater to join.
Meets: Rehearsal times vary depending on the event. Primarily we rehearse after school 3-5 and often on Saturdays.
Fees: $25 basic membership fee. Additional fees for ITS or CSzHSL.

Wrestling
Men’s and Women’s Wrestling is a fun way to get in shape and compete for you school. Wrestling is an Olympic Sport. Several UFC fighters wrestled in high school and college. You can learn hand fighting, throws and takedowns. Be the next one to write History!!
